Glass only: replacing the crack, keeping your display

When only the top glass is cracked and everything under it is perfect, you may not need a whole new screen. The cracked glass is separated from the display and new glass is laminated on.

Check your screen

Open a plain white picture and a plain black one at full brightness. Look closely.

  • No lines, no black or purple patches, no bleeding ink-like spots.
  • Touch works everywhere, including over the cracks.
  • Brightness and colour are even across the screen.

All three true? Glass only may be possible. Any of them false? The display underneath is damaged too, and a screen replacement is the fix.

How it's done

The phone's screen is removed, the cracked glass is carefully separated from the display, and new glass is bonded on with a laminating press so no bubbles are left. The screen then goes back in and is tested.

It's a careful job and not common — 41 glass-only jobs on Android phones in the last 90 days, out of 1,505 screen jobs. On some models, separating the glass risks the display, and we'll recommend a screen replacement instead.

Warranty

30 days, covering defects of the new glass, such as bubbles or the glass lifting.

Send the model and a photo of the screen.

Prices depend on the model and the option, so we don't list them here. On WhatsApp we tell you which options exist for your phone and quote each one — free, and you decide before any work starts.
