Step 1: ask Samsung
Samsung has offered its own help for green-line screens on some Galaxy models. Whether your phone qualifies depends on Samsung's own rules for the model, its age and its condition — we can't confirm that for you, and the details can change.
Other brands' phones can get the same kind of line. Check with the maker's service centre in the same way if the phone is still under warranty.
Step 2: if it's not covered
Then there are two routes, and the right one depends on how the line looks.
- What happens
- Screen line repair:
- The line is repaired on your existing screen
- Screen replacement:
- A new screen is fitted
- Suits
- Screen line repair:
- One or a few thin lines, screen otherwise fine
- Screen replacement:
- Many lines, thick lines, black areas, or cracked glass
- Warranty
- Screen line repair:
- 30 days, for the same fault returning
- Screen replacement:
- By grade — see screen options
- Keep in mind
- Screen line repair:
- A repaired screen can develop new lines with age
- Screen replacement:
- Choose the grade that suits how long you'll keep the phone
When a line repair won't work
- Five or more lines, or a wide band of colour — the panel itself is failing.
- A line that is clearly thick or wide — usually a crack in the panel.
- Black lines or black patches that are spreading.
In those cases a new screen is the honest answer, and we'll tell you so before any work.
Back up now
Green lines often multiply, and sometimes the screen goes dark without warning. While you can still see and touch, back up your photos and chats.

Send the model and a photo of the screen.
Prices depend on the model and the option, so we don't list them here. On WhatsApp we tell you which options exist for your phone and quote each one — free, and you decide before any work starts.
